Popular OEM Spectrometers

[rev_slider oem_small_slider]

Any of our off-the-shelf spectrometers can be integrated into an OEM product, making the transition from lab to market rapid and cost-effective while minimizing risk. From models that stand out for their compact size and high performance-to-cost ratio to high resolution, premium performance, and NIR spectrometers, we have the right fit for your application.

Flame spectrometer Thanks to its robust optical bench and high precision alignment, the Flame spectrometer delivers high thermal stability and low unit to unit variation without compromising the remarkable configurability of Ocean Optics modular spectrometers. Its small footprint (89 x 64 x 34 mm) and low weight (265 g) make Flame ideal for OEM integration, and features such as interchangeable slits, indicator LEDs and simple device connectors provide more freedom for UV-Vis applications.

USB2000+The USB is by far our most popular spectrometer, based on the original crossed Czerny-Turner design that made Ocean Optics famous.  The small footprint, stray light performance and system responsiveness have made this optical bench a good starting point for many applications. The USB2000+ and USB4000 have the same optical bench and optical configuration options, but differ slightly in performance due to the detector used.

EMBED is a small-footprint OEM spectrometer designed for seamless integration and robust environmental performance.  It has the same optical performance and configuration options as the USB series bench, but its native SPI communication makes it perfect for embedded applications, such as hand-held and distributed devices.

Many customers perform proof-of-concept measurements on a plug-and-play USB spectrometer, then migrate with confidence to the EMBED when product integration begins.  The EMBED design is capable of supporting additional detector options, allowing for quick development and testing of application-specific systems at a reasonable cost.EMBED - small-footprint OEM spectrometer

    • High thermal stability, resistant to shock and vibration
    • Superior, picometer-level drift over hours of operation
    • SPI interface for direct communications with DSP and PLC units

STS-VIS with quarterSTS spectrometers weigh less than 2 ounces, and measure a mere 40 x 42 x 24 mm. You get a remarkable amount of performance into this tiny footprint, with high signal to noise ratio, high dynamic range, and low stray light.  With resolution of ~1.5 nm (FWHM) in three spectral ranges, it is a compact, high-performance choice for a wide range of moderate to high-intensity applications.

HR4000CG-UV-NIRThe HR is the next step up from the Ocean Optics’ USB spectrometer.  This optical bench contains the same detectors as the USB series, but with a longer path length that translates to higher resolution and improved stray light performance. When configured with an HC-1 grating, it measures from 200 nm to 1100 nm with 1 nm resolution. It is a natural choice for OEMs looking at atomic emission lines, or who require full UV through NIR wavelength coverage.

Maya2000 ProThe MayaPro combines the resolution and stray-light performance of the HR bench with the power of back-thinned silicon detectors.  The detector is the key differentiator, as this series offers strongly enhanced sensitivity and dynamic range. These factors are critical to meeting the requirements of demanding low-light applications like fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy. Variations on this spectrometer have been produced to customer requirements, including the Maya-Mini and Maya-LSL.

QEPro-spectrometerThe QEPro is the highest-end UV-VIS-NIR spectrometer we offer.  Some applications simply demand the highest performance, and with an HR bench, a TEC cooled back-thinned detector, and the lowest noise theoretically possible, performance is what this spectrometer delivers. Remarkably affordable in OEM volumes, the QE pushes the boundaries of what miniature spectrometers can do, and is therefore most often found inside bench top lab or higher-end QA devices.

NIRQuestThe NIRQuest is the near infrared analog of our flagship QE spectrometer.  Also built on the HR bench and containing a TEC cooled back-thinned detector, high-end electronics and many other features, the difference is its InGaAs PDA detector, which enables measurements from 900 – 2500 nm. NIR spectroscopy at these wavelengths provides composition information, non-invasively and from a distance. Uncooled versions are available on a custom basis for applications with short measurement times.
